The KRG Representation in the US is able to authenticate birth certificates for children of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq who were born in the United States or Canada, issued by US/Canadian institutions.
There are two ways to obtain an Iraqi birth certificate:
Option 1. You may do the legwork at this end by going through the Iraqi Consulate process, which will give you an Iraqi birth certificate by the end of the process. However, you will still have to authenticate this birth certificate when you return to Kurdistan. To learn more, visit the Iraqi Consulate's website at: https://www.iraqiembassy.us/page/requirements-for-requesting-birth-certificates
Or
Option 2. You may go through the KRG process, which will authenticate your US/Canadian birth certificate, but no Iraqi birth certificate is issued at this end. You'll do that in Kurdistan.
Documents Required for Authentication by the KRG Representation (option 2).
The KRG-USA is only able to accept certifications that have been authenticated by the United States Secretary of State (of your state).
