TAPS Global Conference in Abu Dhabi Pays Tribute to Fallen Heroes and Promotes Global Peace

Washington, DC, USA (KRG-USA) – Representing the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in the United States, Mr. Delovan Barwari, Director of Public and Academic Affairs, participated in the Global Gathering for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) from November 30 to December 2, 2023, in Abu Dhabi. This annual event focused on honoring Fallen Heroes and supporting grieving families. It included a special tribute to the fallen heroes of the United Arab Emirates.

This international assembly, which brought together delegates from 15 nations, was dedicated to transforming the grief of war into proactive efforts for peace, aligning with the core values of TAPS International. The Kurdistan Region, including its Peshmerga forces, who partner with American and coalition forces, values the sacrifices of all its fallen heroes.

To honor these heroes and strengthen the ties between the Kurdistan Region and the United States, TAPS International is planning a visit to the Kurdistan Region in 2024. This visit is anticipated to reinforce the enduring partnership between the nations and contribute to promoting peace and stability.

TAPS, a national nonprofit organization established in 1994, has been at the forefront of providing compassionate care and comprehensive resources to those grieving the death of military or veteran loved ones. Through its national peer support network and access to grief resources, TAPS offers round-the-clock support and a variety of programs to survivors, both in the United States and worldwide, all at no cost to the bereaved families and loved ones. This enduring commitment by TAPS exemplifies the essence of community support and solidarity in times of sorrow.
