Washington - D.C., USA (us.gov.krd) -  KRG Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman met officials in the Trump Administration before their departure to wish them well and thank them for their cooperation. Ms. Abdul Rahman met with David Copley, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Iraq at the State Department, and with Simone Ledeen, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Middle East at the Department of Defense.

The Representative has also participated in a virtual event hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on January 12 that highlighted the Kurdistan Region’s gas potential. The discussion centered around a study commissioned by the U.S. Department of Energy to analyze the market, pricing, and political and economic dynamics of Kurdistan’s gas sector. The main speaker was Matthew Zais from the Energy Department.
