Representative Abdul Rahman meets staff of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee



Washington, DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman had an in-person meeting with staff members of the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on July 20.

Ms. Abdul Rahman briefed the senior staffers on the U.S. Iraq strategic dialogue, the security situation in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, the wider Region, the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections, and the condition with COVID-19 in the Kurdistan Region and the urgent need for vaccines.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee was formed in 1816 as one of the original ten standing committees of the Senate. Throughout history, the committee has been instrumental in developing and influencing the United States' foreign policy. Many members of the committee have visited Kurdistan over the years and met with the leaders of the Region.
