Washington DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman took part in a celebration of the Jewish holiday Sukkot and a roundtable discussion on antisemitism and religious freedom hosted by the US State Department and Douglas Emhoff, America’s Second Gentleman.
The KRG Representative was among several ambassadors and diplomats who attended the event on October 12, 2022, at Blair House, the official US government guest house. Ms. Abdul Rahman highlighted Kurdistan’s role as a safe haven for people of all faith and the problems preventing Yezidis and Christians from returning to their homes.
The event was also attended by Rashad Hussein, US Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom, Ambassador Deborah E. Lipstadt, US Special Envoy for Antisemitism, and Ambassador Rufus Gifford, Chief of Protocol.
