Washington - D.C., USA (us.gov.krd) -  On Thursday, Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman discussed security related issues and US-Kurdistan cooperation with Simone Ledeen, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for the Middle East. 

In a conference call, Ms. Abdul Rahman thanked the Department of Defense and the U.S. Congress for its support to the Peshmerga in training, equipment, and other assistance. The two discussed the need to counter ISIS in the disputed territories.

The United States leads the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS. Its military advisors train and advise Iraqi security forces and the Peshmerga.
