KRG Representative Speaks at Congressional Roundtable on Kurdistan’s Geopolitical Challenges



Washington, DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – On January 22, 2024, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Representation in the United States hosted a roundtable discussion with professional staff members of the House Foreign Affairs committee on the geopolitical challenges facing the KRG, Iraq and wider region.

Titled “Insecurity in the Middle East: A Kurdish Perspective,” the event featured KRG Representative Aziz and General Ernie Audino, District Director for Rep. Waltz (R-FL), Chair of the House Kurdish Caucus. Based on her recent visit to the region, Representative Aziz addressed the current political and security challenges and the evolving geopolitical landscape. General Audio shared invaluable perspectives based on his firsthand experience in the region.

The discussion covered Middle East instability, the fight against extremism, and the KRG’s challenges in the face of increased tensions in the region. The roundtable emphasized the need for informed dialogue and collaborative efforts in addressing global challenges.
