Washington, DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman on Thursday, March 18, met with Congressman Adam Smith, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. 

In a virtual meeting, Representative Abdul Rahman and Chairman Smith discussed a wide range of issues, including the impact of covid-19 on Kurdistan and Iraq and the need for vaccines to be delivered. They also discussed the security challenges faced by Kurdistan and Iraq and the successful way the Kurdistan Region has maintained its stability.

Chairman Smith noted the successful cooperation between the peshmerga and US forces in the fight against ISIS, and Ms. Abdul Rahman thanked the chairman for his support.

Chairman Smith led a congressional delegation to Kurdistan in November 2019 when he met with the President and Prime Minister.
