KRG Envoy delivers keynote speech at youth leaders' graduation ceremony

Washington - D.C., USA (us.gov.krd) – KRG Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman delivered a keynote speech at the virtual graduation ceremony of the Global Youth Sustainability and Impact Leaders program on December 10, 2022.

The program is run by the Humanitarian Focus Foundation (HFF), which is accredited by the United Nations Department of Global Communications and is a US-registered non-profit organization that promotes social change through community efforts on education, gender equality, and other sustainable development goals.

Ms. Abdul Rahman thanked HFF founder Dr. Andrise Bass and congratulated the young people from around the world who had completed the program. She outlined the Kurdistan Regional Government's commitment to human rights, women's empowerment, promoting youth engagement, and tackling climate change.

The graduates included candidates from the Kurdistan Region in Iraq who, along with the other students, met twice a month virtually to learn about human rights, sustainable development goals, peacebuilding and negotiation, leadership and good governance, the power of storytelling, and how to engage their community.
