KRG Envoy answers Tennesseans’ questions about Kurdistan



Washington DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – KRG Representative to the United States Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman was the guest of the Tennessee World Affairs Council on March 8 when she made a presentation about the Kurdistan Region and its partnership with the United States.

The World Affairs Council event was virtual and hosted by the TNWAC’s Founder and President Patrick Ryan.
Ms Abdul Rahman outlined the Kurdistan Region’s recent history, the challenges it faces today and the many successes it has achieved since 1991. She also reflected on the 20th anniversary of the liberation of Iraq.

Members of the Council raised questions about Kurdish culture and daily life, as well as questions about the economy and humanitarian situation.
Tennessee, and particularly the city of Nashville, has the largest number of Kurdish-Americans in North America. Nashville and Erbil are in talks on establishing a sister-city relationship.
