Washington, DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman had a warm and cordial meeting with Congressman Seth Moulton, member of the House Armed Services Committee and an Iraq War veteran, on May 4.
Ms. Abdul Rahman updated him on recent political developments, Kurdistan and Iraq's security challenges, and U.S. support to the Peshmerga against ISIS. She thanked Congressman Moulton for his service in Iraq and his support to Kurdistan.
The United States is a crucial partner to the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in the fight against ISIS. It provides financial and military assistance to the Peshmerga forces who have fought ISIS since 2014 and continue to protect the country.
Congressman Seth Moulton is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Massachusetts's 6th congressional district since 2015. He is a former Marine Corps officer and a member of the Democratic Party. He led a frontline infantry platoon in the first Marine company to enter Baghdad, later worked to establish a free and independent Iraqi media, and served as a liaison to the senior Iraqi military and political leaders for General Petraeus.
