Washington, DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – On September 22, 2023, Ms. Treefa Aziz, KRG Representative to the United States, joined KRG’s Minister of Transportation and Communication, Mr. Ano Jawhar Abdoka, to attend the Chaldean Community Foundation (CCF) 5th Annual Awards Gala in Michigan. 

More than 800 people attended the premier event celebrating the success of the vibrant Chaldean community in southeast Michigan. During the program, the CCF honored Karam Bahnam with the Servant Leadership Award. Karam is a successful entrepreneur who has dedicated much of his time to helping others deepen their faith. Karam is also a founding member of the Eastern Catholic Re-Evangelization Center (ECRC), an organization spearheaded by the Chaldean Catholic Diocese and his dedication to ECRC, and other charitable endeavors have made a large impact on the Chaldean Catholic and broader communities. The CCF serves more than 40,000 individuals annually from 58 different countries of origin. 

Representative Treefa Aziz expressed her appreciation for the Chamber's efforts in promoting economic growth and cultural exchange. She also commended the resilience and contributions of the Chaldean diaspora to the diversity and richness of American society. The KRG Representation remains committed to maintaining its robust ties with the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce and the Chaldean  Community Foundation to further advance economic and cultural cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and the United States.
