The Kurdistan Regional Government Representation in the United States organized and coordinated a series of diplomatic engagements in New York City to support the Kurdistan Region’s continued outreach at the United Nations and with the international diplomatic community. The meetings reflected the KRG’s broader efforts to strengthen engagement with foreign missions, UN agencies, and international policy institutions on issues affecting the Kurdistan Region and the wider Middle East.

KRG Representative Aziz and Ms. Bayan AbdulRahman, Senior Advisor to Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on International Affairs, focused their discussion on current developments in the region and the challenges faced in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The discussions provided an opportunity to exchange views on developments in Iraq and the wider region, while highlighting the Kurdistan Region’s continued role as a reliable partner in promoting stability, coexistence, and constructive dialogue. Engagement with UN Agencies and International Organizations

The visit also included meetings with senior officials from key United Nations bodies, including the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations, the UN Environment Programme, and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
