On Tuesday, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with U.S. Congressman Abraham “Ayb” Hamadeh in Washington, D.C.
Congressman Hamadeh expressed pride in his Kurdish heritage, noting, “I am proud to have Kurdish roots in my family—my grandmother is Kurdish, and my mother is Druze.” He welcomed the Prime Minister’s visit and praised the signing of two significant energy agreements in Washington, highlighting their benefit to all Iraqi citizens. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the United States and the Kurdistan Region.
Prime Minister Barzani congratulated Congressman Hamadeh on his recent election to Congress and wished him continued success in his role. He also expressed appreciation for the Congressman’s support of the Kurdistan Region.
