In response to the growing economic and security challenges facing the Kurdistan Region, Representative Treefa Aziz has intensified engagement with Congress to reinforce the U.S.–Kurdistan partnership and secure continued support for the Region.
Over the past month, the KRG US Representation has carried out an extensive round of meetings with key congressional offices, including lawmakers of relevant committees in both the House and Senate. This heightened outreach reflects the critical need to ensure strong and sustained U.S. engagement.
During her visits, Representative Aziz met with Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, for a focused discussion on the evolving security landscape in Iraq and the wider region. Congresswoman Luna reaffirmed her support for the Peshmerga forces and recognized their vital role in preserving regional stability.
Representative Aziz also met with Congressman Pat Harrigan, a member of the House Armed Services Committee.
