On January 30, 2026, a comprehensive agreement was reached between the Syrian Government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), to end hostilities and provide a framework for a permanent ceasefire, the phased integration of SDF fighters into the Syrian armed forces and security services, the withdrawal of forces from frontline positions, and the integration of local civil institutions into the Syrian state while safeguarding civil and educational rights and enabling the return of displaced civilians.
