US-Kurdistan Business Council hosts discussion with Representative Abdul Rahman



Washington, DC, USA (us.gov.krd) - Members of the US-Kurdistan Business Council gathered on videoconference on Wednesday to hear from KRG Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman about the economic outlook in Kurdistan Region and other critical issues.

Representative Abdul Rahman updated the group on developments in Kurdistan and Iraq, including the process of forming a new government in Baghdad under the leadership of Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, which could be a significant milestone for the country. The Representative’s remarks and the group’s extensive discussion also covered  the economic challenges facing Kurdistan as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the fall in oil prices, as well as the resurgence of ISIS.

Representative Abdul Rahman reiterated the KRG’s commitment to standing by those who have invested in Kurdistan.

The US-Kurdistan Business Council is a group of several dozen companies and organizations invested in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The group travels at least once each year to the Kurdistan Region. For more information about the USKBC, email jasmine.zaki@dentons.com.
