Washington DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – KRG Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman met with Congressman Mark Takano, Democrat of California and Chairman of the House Veterans' Affairs Committee, on December 12, 2022, to follow up on his recent visit to Erbil.

Chairman Takano led a congressional delegation to Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region over the Thanksgiving holiday, where they spent time with American soldiers stationed there. They also met with high officials, representatives of NGOs and faith leaders. Representative Abdul Rahman appreciated Chairman Takano's visit and his observations on the political and security situation in the country.

They also discussed the impact of regional events on Iraqi stability and sovereignty and the shared interests of the United States and the Kurdistan Region in having a stable and democratic Iraq.
