Representative Abdul Rahman meets with congressional and White House officials



Washington - D.C., USA (us.gov.krd) - Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman this month held meetings with officials at the White House, Department of Energy, Congress, and the American Chamber of Commerce Kurdistan.

Representative Abdul Rahman had a virtual meeting with Erik Olson, Iraq Director at the National Security Council, and Ludovic Hood from the Office of the Vice President. In the two meetings, she updated them on Kurdistan and Iraq's recent developments and sought U.S. support for the Sinjar Agreement, which is crucial to bringing about stability in the area. She also spoke with Matthew Zais at the Department of Energy regarding expanding energy relations.

Ms. Abdul Rahaman held a virtual meeting with Congressman Michael Waltz, R-Florida, who is a member of the Kurdish-American Congressional Caucus. They discussed the security, political, humanitarian, and economic situation in Iraq and Kurdistan.

The KRG Representative also held a virtual meeting with Dori Abouzeid, President of the American Chamber of Commerce Kurdistan, known as AmCham, an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber. They discussed ways the KRG office in Washington DC and AmCham can increase their cooperation and coordination and support American companies operating in Kurdistan.
