Representative Abdul Rahman meets members of House Intel and Armed Services committees



Washington, DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman traveled to Capitol Hill on January 28 to meet with three members of critical Congressional committees.

She met separately with Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee Adam Smith, who led a Congressional delegation to Kurdistan in the fall, as well as Representatives Chris Stewart and Will Hurd, both of whom serve on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

In all three meetings Representative Abdul Rahman thanked the Members for their continuing support for the Kurdistan Region, particularly their support for the Peshmerga. The members expressed their support for Kurdistan Region as a critical ally of the United States. They discussed the evolving political and security situation in Iraq, the ongoing humanitarian crisis, and the recent meeting between President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani and President of the United States Donald Trump.
