Washington DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – The KRG Representative to the United States, Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, hosted faculty and students from Virginia Tech at the Kurdistan Regional Government Mission on March 23, 2023.

Ms. Abdul Rahman welcomed the visitors from the university’s Washington Semester in Government and Economics (WSGE) program.

She shared insights on the Kurdish question and discussed the mission’s diplomatic activities. ‘We are delighted to host faculty and students from Virginia Tech’s WSGE program,’ said Ms. Abdul Rahman. ‘Education is essential for fostering a greater understanding of such complex issues as the Kurdish question. We hope that our discussion will help to promote understanding and cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and the United States.’

The WSGE is a semester-long academic program that allows students to study government and economics in the U.S. capital. They meet with U.S. government officials, diplomats and other policymakers as part of their assignments.
