The bill promotes accountability for the genocide committed by ISIS against Yezidis and Christians, and provides for the urgent needs of these persecuted religious and ethnic communities.

KRG-US had advocated for the passage of the bill in Congress. KRG Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman joined an event at the White House prior to the signing ceremony.
