KRG Mission hosts meetings with Chaldean-American and Duhok Chambers of Commerce



Washington DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – The Kurdistan Regional Government Representative to the United States, Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, hosted a productive virtual meeting with the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce President Martin Manna and Duhok Chamber President Ayad Abdulhalem on January 30, 2023.

The meeting followed a visit by the Chaldean American Chamber, which is based in Michigan, to the Kurdistan Region in November. The delegation was led by Mr. Manna, and visited Erbil, Duhok, and various other areas where the Chaldean community lives. They met with Prime Minister Masrour Barzani as well as faith leaders, civil society members, and business representatives.

Mr. Manna and Mr. Abdulhalem discussed ways to enhance US-Kurdistan business collaboration, promote local manufacturing, and tap into Duhok's successful tourism industry.

The meeting was an opportunity to exchange ideas and create new business partnerships. The attendees discussed ways to encourage American businesses to invest in the Kurdistan Region and how to increase local production in order to support economic growth and jobs. In addition, the group talked about Duhok's picturesque landscapes, rich history and culture, and how to attract more tourists to the area.
