KRG Mission continues advocacy in the US Congress



Washington, DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – The Kurdistan Regional Government Representation in the United States continued its advocacy in Congress this week and met with several members and staff of the House of Representatives.

Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, the KRG Representative to the United States, met with members of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee to highlight recent developments in Kurdistan Region and Iraq and to thank members for their continued support.

She met with Congressman Adam Smith, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, as well as Congressmen Don Bacon, Brian Mast, John Garamendi, Albio Sires, Andy Kim, Steve Chabot, Ruben Gallego, and Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler.

The United States is the largest donor of humanitarian assistance to Iraq and has provided financial and other support and training to the peshmerga. 

In the meetings, Ms. Abdul Rahman updated them on the security situation, the economy, and the hardships endured by displaced and refugee communities.
