Washington DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – The KRG envoy to the United States, Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, had a virtual meeting with the Vice-Chair of the Canadian Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development, Garnett Genuis, to discuss political, commercial, security, and humanitarian developments in the Kurdistan Region and wider Middle East.
Ms. Abdul Rahman gave an update on the latest developments in the region and Mr. Genuis also gave his take on the Canadian Parliament’s priorities in the Middle East. Both sides expressed their commitment to maintaining strong relations and constructive dialogue.
Ms. Abdul Rahman expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to engage in dialogue with Vice-Chair Genuis and his team, noting that the exchange of ideas was an important step towards achieving common goals.
Vice-Chair Genuis emphasized the importance of Canada's partnership with the KRG, noting that the region plays a crucial role in promoting stability and security in Iraq and the Middle East.
