Washington DC, USA (us.gov.krd) – KRG Representative Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman and Congressman Colin Allred, Democrat of Texas, met on December 12, 2022, to discuss his recent visit to the Kurdistan Region.

Congressman Allred, who is a member of the House committees on foreign and veterans' affairs, was part of a congressional delegation that visited Erbil and Baghdad over the Thanksgiving Holiday. He and Representative Abdul Rahman discussed the security challenges facing Kurdistan and political progress between Erbil and Baghdad. They also expressed their concern about events in the broader region and their impact on Iraq's sovereignty and stability.

Congressman Allred is a member of the Kurdish-American Congressional Caucus. A former lawyer and American football NFL player, Mr. Allred was elected to Congress in 2018.
